'Friends Bungalow' is located on the north half of Aow Yai beach at Koh Phayam, a beautiful island in the Andaman Sea southwest of Ranong in Thailand. The nature and the wildlife are amazing, white beaches with clear water and only a few tourists. There are no cars on the island.
Our restaurant has a beautiful sea view and our customers can choose to sit under palm trees in the sand, on one of our wooden platforms with Thai pillows and Japanese tables or in our open restaurant underneath a palm leaf roof. We serve delicious Thai food as well as steak, pizza, pasta and other western dishes. Very popular are also the Burmese specialties and our homemade baguettes and cakes.

I'm German and speak good English. My Thai is a not very good but I can get around.
We are a very uncommon family, 3 different nationalities working hand in hand.
All our kitchen staff is Burmese.
Nicky (Thai) is actually an interior designer who always had the dream to open a restaurant because he is a passionate cook.
We met in Phuket where I (Sonja, German) then worked as a diving instructor.
After the tsunami had destroyed Nickys company in 2004, we had to turn away from Phuket and lived for a while in Chiang Mai and Bangkok. But since we both love to stay by the sea, we were looking 2009 for land on Koh Phayam and built bungalows. Now we take care of 12 rooms and a restaurant while we also have a little girl. That's why we need some help
The building next to the restaurant is directly at the beach, you will stay upstairs with a beautiful view towards the ocean. We provide a mosquito net cabin with a mattress and a little wardrobe inside. We offer 24 hours electricity and free wifi. The bathroom is opposite the door about 3 meters away and is only used from our staff. It's cleaned every day.
You can sit together with our staff for lunch and dinner or order food from the menu (on a budget). Water and Nescafe is free.
We have a tip box what is shared equal. If we need some extra help out of normal we will pay you.
