We need 2 volunteers
Malang is an education city and also one of the most popular tourist destinations in East Java. The temperature in Malang is generally cooler than most cities in Indonesia, but sometimes it can get hot too.
Our school has been working closely with volunteers from all around the world since 2014. We had volunteers from China, Japan, Ukraine, Germany, and Belgium where they were involved in various activities that we created for young learners. Through the program, our previous volunteers had the opportunity to introduce their country and their culture and at the same time learn about early childhood education in Indonesia. With our motto “learning is playing, and playing is learning”, this is truly a fun place to volunteer at!
We welcome volunteers from many different educational background and interests, so don’t worry about your degree. As long as you enjoy working with young learners (3-7 year olds), work hard, patient, care about the importance of education, willing to learn about early childhood education, and happy to share about your culture, you are the right person to join us
In general, volunteers will spend one week in each of our class (about 6-8 weeks long in total) observing how early childhood education is done at our school. Volunteers will act as an observer and an assistant to our teachers. In addition, we will give volunteers an opportunity in which they can contribute to the teaching-learning process with their unique skills such as foreign languages, story telling, fun cooking, traditional songs and dances from your country, games, sports, face painting, and so on.
So to put it simply, volunteers can think about what they can do well (for example playing a music instrument) and then think about how to elaborate it into educational activities for young learners.

Chinese, English, Indonesian
Hello, I'm Hanna Tanjung. I'm married and I have a 3 y.o son. PAUD Kamilia was established by my parents, so my mother is the head master, and my father is the chairman. I teach English at PAUD Kamilia, but I am also highly involved in many activities at our school on a daily basis. You will work closely with me because I am the person in charge of international volunteers From 2011 to 2013 I spent my time traveling abroad. I received a non-degree scholarship program from US Department of State for a year, and I also studied Mandarin Chinese for a year in Beijing. I enjoy community service, meeting new people, traveling, eating and cooking, reading, and movies. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Education Management in State University of Malang.
We will rent a room or two for the volunteers. It is a kind of boarding house which rooms are for rent and it's very common in Indonesia. We choose the one within walking distance from our school so it will be easy for volunteers to reach us just in case they need help. We promise to help volunteers to ensure they have a decent and safe place to stay in.
We will also be providing food for volunteers. We normally calculate how much will be needed for food (3 meals a day for 6-8 weeks) with standard food price in Malang. So we will give the cash for food to volunteers. Volunteers can choose whether to buy ingredients and cook for themselves or just buy food.
