We are Theik Khar Myanmar Institute in Taunggyi, Shan State, Myanmar. We run a 15-month Arts & Social Sciences Alternative College Program. We have 30 students each year from all across Myanmar comprising of 3-4 religious groups & 15-18 ethnic groups. Our students learn to use the arts to portray about social issues while increasing their knowledge of the world. We have recently acquired an 8-acre land in the countryside where we should be moving the school upon the end of construction (planned opening May 2019). I am a Canadian who has been living abroad for the last 21 years. I have lived & worked in China, Serbia, Pakistan, England, Israel, and traveled to many others. Since 2010 I have been living in Myanmar and running Theik Khar Myanmar Institute.
Most meals we'll be prepared by yourself although every week we have activities with the students where the meals are organized by us.
A monthly stipend will be offered to cover food and other basics
