About the workproject

We need 3 volunteers

Rural to action is a community youth led organization that empowers young minds in rural communities in Mbita, Homabay Kenya. Founded on the principles of compassion, inclusivity, and sustainability, our organization is committed to breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty through community led initiatives. We fight short term hunger among children in rural primary schools with a everyday cup of porridge, organic farming, organic waste management through insect technology, and youth economic empowerment.

My name is Joseph, 31 years old. I am married to my lovely wife Beryl; we have been blessed with one child Jerald. I am a social worker by profession, a researcher and humanitarian worker. I believe in locally led change in the community and this led to starting a community-based organization called Rural to Action that empowers young minds in rural communities. I empower youths on economic empowerment through skills training and fight hunger among children by feeding school children in rural primary schools in Mbita, where we currently provide daily nutritious porridge every day to 300 children.
