I'm Gita, recently graduated in Environment and Resource management, with a big love for enjoying nature through hiking, as well as cycling and horse riding. In my free time I play football and I like to swim a lot. I was a volunteer with WWF for a while, facilitating events to mostly teach kids some facts about sustainable fishery and protection of natural parks. I had some jobs in restaurants, because of this I really enjoy cooking, especially with fresh products I have solo travelled through South America for 3 months and now I would really love to help out with making a small corner of the continent more sustainable, environmentally friendly and self-sufficient!
I will be visiting Chile from around the 18th of July to mid August, staying for a bit in Melipilla close to Santiago. Since I've been in Chile before last January I'm used to long bus rides, so covering distance is no problem especially with the natural beauty of this country! I have broad interests but above all I'm really keen to work in eco-related projects.
I studied Environment and Resource Management in Amsterdam, where I learned a lot about how ecosystems function, what services they provide, as well a bit of environmental economics. This way I did some research on certification, benefit sharing and more but apart from visiting the occasional eco farm and spending a week on a farm when I was 18 years old I'm really looking forward to do the practical environmental work myself now! I'm open to do all sorts of tasks and my Spanish is quite decent from practicing hands on with Chileans, so having a project ingrained in the local society is something I'd really love.
I am not a smoker, I have a drivers license, I am a vegetarian and I have no allergies.
