About me

I'm an 22 years old ecuadorian and since the last semester I've been working as an assistant in the Santiago de Guayaquil Catholic University but I'm searching for new experiences trying to get a volunteer around the world for half year or a whole year. I always think that the best way to learn about everything is traveling and knowing new people from different cultures and languages. I like to cook and trying any kind of food also I'm into music, when I was 12 I started to learn about percusion and how to play drum set but since I went to college I stoped but now I'm trying again to get into the arts. So I decided to take a this oportunity of increasing my knowledge and global values because that's what life means to me. I like nature and all about it: since science as chemistry or biology to extrem sports as canoying or rafting.

Preferred location

I am Fernando Olvera an 22 years old ecuadorian. I'm runing for aquaculture engineering in the ESPOL that is a politechnician school in my country. I love music, when I was 12 I started learning percusion and how to play drums but since I started my carreer I stoped for a while, right now I'm off of school because I'm working as an assistent in a office but I have been searching for new experiences and I found this place very interesting information and since I heard about aquaponics and organic farm production I wanted to dedicated and learn about those practices as a way of life. I'm passionated about nature and biological science in general but I'm very into arts as cinema, pinture and music as well. When I was in my 5th semester I decided to started practices in a research centre in Santa Clara in the province of Puyo that's located in the amazon forest, I was in the fresh water amazonic fish's production and it was the most amazing experience I've ever had before, been in the middle of the forest and hiking around the paths just to watch birds and search reptiles were my favorites hobbies in Santa Clara. Also I have to intercultural exchanges in the US and both were in Florida; The first one was in 2014 and I lived in Fort Myers Beach were I was working as a seafood clerk in Publix groseries stores and the last program I went to Panama City Beach in the north of the state working as bakery clerk in Winn Dixie Store and as a waiter in the Hauffbrau Beer House restaurant. I found my english fluent and my spanish is native but I've been taking some duolingo german classes but I must say I could make it as soon as possible to have a basic german. I would like to know what and where are my possibilities to be a volunteer in, in few words I would like to met new people, have new experiences and mostly: learn about our planet.

Skills

I've been practicing with the gardening at home as in the college's campus doing proyects with cucumbers, plantain and onions but only in small productions using organic suplies as a bioles, organic fitohormones and worm's humus (as a liquid and solid presentations).
I know about small fresh water fish production, how calcutate biomass, the food's administration join the growth rate per week and the physical-chemical parameters as a oxigen level, pH and temperature.
I speak native spanish and fluent english (both reading, speaking and writting) so I'm open to the chance of teaching.
Also I'm into music but in the percusion side but I know the basic to play guitar and bass guitar.
Finally, as I wrote in my presentation I love hiking and doing some sports as biking, canoying, rafting, etc. So I'm into the forest, farm or just nature way of living more than a city young man.
