My photo was taken during my volunteer time in Thailand, January 2016, on down the trail from the waterfall. I am a retired educator who is interested volunteering, teaching English helping with light outdoor projects and writing and publishing articles my adventures.
I want to teach English, but I am only interested, at this time, in positions no longer than a month. I am a retired educator, holding a degree in English and Speech, a teacher's license in English grades 7-12, and two Masters' degrees: Administration K-12 and Curriculum and Instruction K-12. My career afforded me time as a high school teacher, a high school administrator, a college professor, a writing coach for graduate students and an editor for graduate projects.
Recently, I spent a month at Mirror Foundation, near Chaing Rai, in Thailand, teaching English to students, kindergarten through high school, and for four days, I taught the young men studying to become monks. My experience and age served me well, and our time together was almost magical while quite productive.
I am also interested in some outdoor activity, though I am not interested in labor intensive projects. Gardening, painting, planting are things I can do.
I do not want my age to be an issue. As an older volunteer I bring a patience and a wisdom to what I do. I love teaching and I am a great teacher. It is my wish that I fill this part of my life with great adventures that are symbiotic. I have so much to give and the world has so much to offer me in return.
