Animal caretakers are needed in every country around the world. Just like people, animals also need love and care. Hovos connects hosts that are looking for extra hands with travelers who share their love for animals.
Would you like to help out with animals in exchange for room and board? Or are you interested in hosting travelers and teaching people how to take care of animals?
No problem. Hovos can help you.
As a host you gain additional hands to help care for your animals in exchange for offering our travelers accommodation and meals. This keeps the costs down because you do not have to hire external personnel.
At Hovos, you can sign up as a host. During the sign up process you can specify what type of help you need and what you offer in exchange. This allows our travelers to find you based on those details.
As a host, you are able to search for your volunteer(s) based on the information they have in their profiles. This way, you don’t have to wait for a traveler to find you - instead you can actively search for the people who can meet your needs.
As a host needing animal care, you will learn to cooperate with and take care of your volunteer(s). You’ll be able to get more work done without any huge increases in costs. Furthermore, a host will learn more about the country, background, culture and lifestyle of their travelers – it’s a great experience and exchange.
As a Hovos Traveler you will take care of animals during work hours and, in return, your host will offer you accommodation, meals and time off to explore. Animal care can consist of a variety of different tasks. It might be general care of cats, dogs, sheep, goats, rabbits, pigs, elephants etc., but it might be even be something like going on a trip with huskies! Experience with animals is beneficial, but it is not mandatory.
Volunteering in animal care is the perfect solution if you want to travel more and enjoy working with animals, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money. At Hovos you can sign in as a traveler interested in animal care and find the right host. The host will offer accommodation and food in return for your help, which in turn, helps you keep your travel costs down! We recommend defining your work preferences while signing up with Hovos – this way a host searching for someone to help with animal care can easily find you.
