Whether you’re a violinist or a voice coach, you can put your musical skills to work while you travel, bringing enjoyment and happiness to the lives of our hosts.
Our hosts might be looking for structured lessons or they might be more interested in jamming with a fellow musician, it just depends on their skill level and what their goals are.
Many of our hosts are also interested in finding music teachers for their children who have the necessary skills and patience. Be sure to let your host know if you are comfortable teaching children or not.
As a Hovos host, you have the incredible opportunity to find someone to help you practice your music, without having to pay per lesson or session. All you need to do is look for volunteers who have a music background, invite them to come to your location, stay with you and help you with your music lessons. In exchange you provide accommodation and food.
If you want to practice your musical instrument, find someone who plays that instrument or who has training in it. If you want someone to practice with, find a traveller who sings or someone who has been part of a band. Expose yourself to different kinds of music, different music formats and various styles of music from the comfort of your home.
As a host you will learn to cooperate with and take care of your volunteer(s). You’ll be able to get more work done without any huge increases in costs. Furthermore, a host will learn more about the country, background, culture and lifestyle of their travelers – it’s a great experience and exchange.
Travelers have plenty to gain at Hovos too. If you have a keen interest in music and you want to help others learn, this is your opportunity to make a big difference.
Want to learn about different musical styles? Or want to know more about a specific location's musical traditions and culture? Or do you want to practice your musical skills?
All of these are possible if you pick the right host.
Interact with different kinds of people with varying skill levels in music and gain exposure to different musical styles as a volunteer with Hovos.
In exchange for your help with their music lessons, your host will offer you a safe place to stay and home cooked meals.
You’ll have the opportunity to explore a new place, learn about the culture and make new friends while you pursue your passion for music.
It's a great opportunity for both hosts and volunteers to do something that is close to their heart without worrying about the financial aspects. Sign up as a traveller if you have musical skills that you would like to exhibit and utilize.
